I feel Waverly Hills has a very dark past, the tortured souls that have yet left the hallways of the sanatorium. When people walk inside the huge building they seize to realize the souls of the past are walking around them. They are simply trapped in the pain and have yet figured out how to move on to the spiritual side of life. Waverly Hills has help me realize that their is indeed an afterlife, with all the evidence accumilated over the years theirs no doubt in my mind that this hospital is "haunted". Being from the EVP recordings, listening to the trapped souls try to communicate. Or wether be a actual video recording of someone walking around the hallways. That may be the nurse regretting her suicidal decision, or the little boy Timmy not yet realizing he has passed. I hope this tormented souls eventually find their way, but for now I'll enjoy watching and hearing of evidence of the afterlife.

Their is countless and numberous amounts of evidence people have acquired throughout the years. Every ghost hunter show on TV has been in the sanatorium and all have caught some type of unexplained phenomenon. Travel Channel did an hour special a couple years ago, they showed footage from different parts of the building. In one example, the cast would shoot a red laser beam across hallways; to see if any shadows would actually make the beam stop from going across the hall. The beam would actually stop going across the hall and at times you could even point out where the shadows were. According to spooked tv,"Spooked" is actually a uncut movie ghost hunters made when they investigated the sanatorium. They caught ghost walking around, a couple orbs appearing out of nowhere. EVP's are electronic voice phenomenon, and caught unexplainable voices they didn't hear while making the investigation,Mahalo.com

Room 502 is the most infamous place in Waverly Hills; their are two separate deaths that occured in this room. A nurse who was non married, was impregnanted by doctor, she hung herself in the room and wasn't found until the next day. Another nurse had reportly jumped out the fifth story window, nobody has explanation for this. Timmy is a little boy that is seen and heard running around the hallways while he plays with his ball, which is seen thrown the stairs says Bryan Bobette, from "Waverly Hills Sanitarium The Haunted Hospital". More children noises are heard on the roof of the building, this were they kept the little ones to catch some sunlight. They are seen pearing over the building at times and laughing at visitors. According to "thecabinet.com", their is also a old woman who is always seen in the entrance of the sanatorium with chains around her hands and feet. She screams and runs towards the entrance as blood drips down; as she is running she slowly disppears into thin air.Probably the creepiest would be the shadow that are always seen walking around the building and walk back and forth across the hallways. They are different size shadows, ranging from two feet high up to seven feet. Another one is the building lights up as if it's still had electricity even though all electrical wires had been torn out years ago.

During the 1800's and early 1900's tuberculosis was a really big issue, taking the lives of entire families, sometimes even whole towns. The first Waverly Hills Sanatorium was built in 1910, in an effort to keep the plague centralized in a certain area and to try and find a cure. The plague was so popular that the hospital soon became overcrowded, in 1926 a much larger sanatorium was built to accomodate up to 400 patients. The sanatorium sits on hill, in the outskirts of Louisville Kentucky, there is a perfect reason for this.According to "Bryan Bobette", It was thought the best treatment for tuberculosis was fresh air, plenty of nutritious food, and a lot of rest. There were also experiments that doctors tried to help the patients breath easier. One of which was called "pneumothorax", surgically collapsing and deflating a portion of the lung so that it would heal also, "thoracoplasty", taking out two or three ribs hoping the lung would expand and heal. Most patients who underwent this procedures did not survive; it's actually estimated 64,000 patients died in Waverly's first three years alone. The deaths were so bad they actually had a body chute, an underground tunnel used to transport the bodies from the top of the hill to the bottom. The body chute also helped keep the patients morale up, using the chute, patients were not able to see how many people were really dying. "Troy Taylor & Haven Entertainment" claim, the sanatorium was closed down during in 1961 and re-opened as Woodhaven Geriatrics sanitarium. During that time patients were mistreated and some even killed; the treatment of patients plus horrible conditions led to the state finally closing it in 1982.

Waverly Hills Sanatorium is regarded as one of the most haunted places in the country. I was always was interested in this place due to it's reputation and how it usually sends people running out of the hospital. I wasn't much of a believer until i started seeing footage of unexplainable shadows and noises seemingly coming out of nowhere; the evidence is too compelling for someone just look away and not to notice.
